IPL Photofacial for Sun Spots & Redness in Tulsa

Sun spots from years outside. Redness that makeup never quite covers. A blotchy tone that just won't even out. If your skin looks older or tired because of color rather than wrinkles, an IPL photofacial was made for exactly that.

We use Lumecca, an intense pulsed light (IPL) device from InMode.

Now at our Tulsa clinic. Our Oklahoma City clinic is adding it soon.

What an IPL Photofacial Treats

  • Sun spots and age spots
  • Brown pigmentation and uneven tone
  • Redness and flushing
  • Broken capillaries and small facial veins
  • Overall dull, blotchy skin

How IPL Treatment Works

Lumecca delivers gentle pulses of broad-spectrum light into the skin. The light is absorbed by pigment and by the tiny blood vessels that cause redness.

Over the next week or so, brown spots darken and flake away, and redness fades as the body clears the treated vessels.

What to Expect

  1. Consultation

We look at your skin, ask about recent sun exposure and plan your treatments.

  2. Treatment

A full face usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Most people feel a quick warm snap with each pulse.

  3. After

Mild redness usually fades within 1 to 3 days. Dark spots may look darker for about a week before they flake off, sometimes looking like coffee grounds. That's normal and means it's working.

  4. Your series

Many people see a difference after one session. A typical plan is about 3 sessions, spaced around 4 weeks apart.

Is an IPL Photofacial Right for You?

IPL works best on skin that isn't tanned. If you've had a lot of recent sun or self-tanner, we may ask you to wait a few weeks.

It treats color and redness, not loose skin, so if laxity is your main concern, Morpheus8 or FaceTite may be a better fit. We'll help you sort that out at your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many IPL photofacial sessions will I need?

Many people see improvement after one session. A typical plan is about 3 sessions, roughly 4 weeks apart. It depends on your skin and goals.

Is there downtime?

Very little. Mild redness usually fades in 1 to 3 days, and most people go right back to their routine.

Why do my spots look darker after treatment?

That's the pigment rising to the surface. The darker spots usually flake off within about a week.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe it as a quick warm snap, like a rubber band. It's over fast.

Can I get an IPL photofacial if I'm tanned?

It's best to wait until a tan fades. Treating tanned skin raises the risk of side effects.

Where can I get an IPL photofacial in Oklahoma?

Right now, at our Tulsa clinic. It's coming to our Oklahoma City clinic soon.
